Flash Forest
According to the World Counts, one football field of forest is lost every single second around the clock.
In the fight against deforestation, this Startup has a clever way of planting 10.000 - 20.000 trees per day at a very low cost.
Flash Forest is using drones to plant trees with a goal of planting 1 billion trees by 2028
🚀 The company modifies drones to fire rapidly germinating tree seeds into the soil, which makes the process ten times quicker and 80% cheaper than traditional tree-planting methods
🎯 The heavy-lift drones are equipped with a pneumatic firing system that allows them to place the planting pods at the optimal soil depth, even in difficult terrains
🚁 Flash Forest's drones can plant 10,000 to 20,000 seed pods daily. The company aims for a pair of pilots to plant 100,000 trees daily in the future.
Key points:
modified drones planting tree pods
10.000- 20.000 trees per day
The aim is to reduce the cost per pod to 50 cents.
Previously, I found drones to be annoying and intrusive, particularly when I'm surfing, and they're buzzing overhead. However, I now recognize their potential and continuing role, possibly even extending to human transportation.

We all have to do laundry, and if you have been following me you know that I have written articles about Earth Breeze vs Tru Earth and individual reviews.

Ground Fridge
I love the idea of a food cellar. I Germany, we always had a cellar, and it is nice and cool. Using the thermal mass from the ground makes a lot of sense to keep your food and wine cool.
It uses a solar-powered ventilator to suck the cool air in and let the warm air out.
All it requires is a 25 sq m space for installation and that’s it, there is no need for permits.
Key points:
natural cooling cellar for your veggies and wine
easy to install
maintains a temperature between 8-15 degrees
storage capacity of 3000 liters
Features a built-in shelving system and a lockable door.

Technology
Blest Machine
Whatever happened to the blest machine from 2010?
Have you ever heard of pyrolisis? The Blest Machine was invented by Akinori Ito in 2010. It uses pyrolysis, a thermochemical decomposition process, to convert plastic back into oil. That’s right, it allows for home usage due to its small footprint, and rather than throwing your plastic trash in the “recycling”, you can turn it back into valuable oil.
Sadly I can not find any further information on what happened to the machine. If you have a clue, let me know on my X.
Key points:
Converts Plastic back into Oil (1kg to 1l)
Portable and small
It helps to understand the value of plastic
Oil can be further modified into fuel or kerosine

Zero Waste Swap
Toothbrush
This is probably the easiest small step you can take, but it surprises me how many of my friends still have plastic toothbrushes in their bathrooms.
I don’t want to become the guy that gets on everyones nerves about replacing their plastic toothbrush so I just bring some from my own supply as a gift, with a little hint 😉 .
Which ones do I like?
As long as the toothbrush is made from bamboo, it is environmentally friendly. Castor oil-based (biodegradable) bristles are too hard in my opinion, so in most cases, you have to break the head off and dispose of it differently. Since the bristles are made from nylon.
However, that's already a lot better.
Key points:
reduces waste
works just as well as your plastic toothbrush
feel good about yourself
cost is the same
